Serving the needs of the Harrogate community for over 25 years
Essential Needs has been working since 1995 to help people in the Harrogate community by re-using and redistributing good quality used furniture, household items and white goods to those residents in need of support.
Originally part of the Council’s ‘Community Programme’, we are now an independent registered charity run by three part time staff and supported by a steadfast group of volunteers and a governing board of trustees.
Our aims are . . .
In the past year . . .
. . . we provide furniture, bedding and appliances to nearly 500 households in the Harrogate area.
. . . our volunteers gave over 3,246 hours of their time to help collect and deliver our items.
. . . we stop more than 110 tonnes of furniture and electrical appliances from adding to the landfill mountain.
